We are wrapping up our website, narrowing down our training/practice fields, and have opened the registration for tryouts of our competitive and tournament-only teams open to 6u-19u players... and the full on panic has set in!!
The organizing, planning, and administrative part of starting a brand new soccer club was a breeze compared to the overwhelming fear that kids won't sign up. CMH was created with a vision for soccer in Southeast Georgia; to see the growth of soccer in the community and to help develop, nurture, and support the amazing talent lying dormant in the area.
And then tryouts opened! The very first player registration we received was followed by an excitement unparalleled to anything we could have dreamt. Seeing the seed we planted begin to grow a tiny sprout of interest was nothing short of exhilarating.
But.... we quickly found it was immediately replaced with panic and fear. What if this was it? What if we failed to illicit any further interest? What if we failed before we began?
We took a step back, took a deep breath and realized we were getting ahead of ourselves. The love we see for soccer among our area schools, in our community at the rec departments, and among our Sunday League players is reassurance enough that the desire to grow, develop, and just play the sport is alive.
Starting CMH was something we were led to do.
While we are seeing it to fruition 10 years earlier than we thought we would, we know this is the right step and natural path for us.
The fear isn't gone; The panic hasn't completely subsided; but the anticipation of our debut season has us sitting on the edge of our seats, excited to see where this journey takes us.
